Fortis is a company specialized in the production of watches for
cosmonauts and pilots. This black watch from the B-42 Flieger collection focuses
on legibility and ease of use. It is a limited edition product and solely 500
such timepieces are available. The Fortis B-42 Flieger Big Date is equipped with
Swiss-made ETA 2836-1 automatic calibre that performs 28 800 vibrations per hour
and has 25 bearing jewels. Other movement characteristics include fine timing
device and Incabloc shock absorber. Hands, numerals and indices are covered with
luminous paint that enhances night time readability. A date indicator is
available at 3 o'clock and a day display is positioned at 9 o'clock. Indications
are bilingual, coming both in English and German. Additional useful features
include see-through case back, crown with the Fortis logo, individual numbering
and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating.
