The Ball Engineer Master II Officer timepiece is relatively large and easy to read – its case diameter is 46 millimetres. One of the most prominent characteristics of the Officer is the pocket watch movement – ETA 6498, which is hand-wound. The movement performs 18 000 vibrations per hour and has 17 bearing jewels. The watch is protected from shock, magnetic influences and water penetration. Hands and indices are illuminated through the use of 14 self-powered micro gas tubes that glow 100 times brighter than luminous paint. A button is available underneath the crown. It releases the case back and makes the movement observable through sapphire crystal glass. Additional features include a sub-seconds dial at 6 o'clock, luminous Arabic numerals, engraved back cover and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating.
